Lovely To See You (Hampshire/Kent)
Come in, settle down Give me your coat and let me look at you It's been quite a while And I've gotta admit I kinda like your style And I need to know just how you've been Won't you tell me how you've been You're looking well but... There's something different about the way you smile I wish I could Tell you some more but there's not much that's changed around here It's so sad we can't recall All the crazy things we've done

When an old friend stops by to say hello and you haven't seen them for a while, this is what you would say! As usual the first line gave away the meaning of the song, so Ben and Rich tried to expand on the theme created by 'Come in settle down' to a further two verses. A totally different lyric was initially used for the chorus which is such a well known phrase that we are surprised no one has used it before! Actually found out it has, moody blues :( We'd always wanted to write a song with a riff so Rich came to Ben and they rustled up the riff together in about 5 minutes. The chords are C Dm7 repeated which are a great combination if you ever are stuck for ideas. Outtake lyrics include: 'Why don't you stop and maybe stay a while' 'You've changed and I've gotta admit I kinda like your style' '...don't you leave out anything'
It's lovely to see you, lovely to be with you Lovely to see you again It's lovely to see you, lovely to be with you Lovely to see you again You know, we could Spend all day talking about the things we've done Come on, get up There's lots of people waiting there for you! And we need to know just how you've been Won't you tell me how you've been It's lovely to see you, lovely to be with you Lovely to see you again It's lovely to be you, lovely to be you Lovely to see you again
